The task

The SOZIALHELDEN website is the oldest and most unclear site on the net – according to the SOZIALHELDEN themselves. According to the motto “Everyone can be a social hero,” the association is now looking for a design that puts the spotlight on their projects and offers visitors options as to how they can become involved in their projects. The new design should attract people who want to make the world a little bit better, as well as partners and politicians

The backround

The SOZIALHELDEN (SOCIAL HEROES) are a group of dedicated people who have been working together since 2004 to develop creative projects in order to draw attention to social problems and, in the ideal case, to find solutions for them. The SOZIALHELDEN want to make people aware of social problems and motivate them to think differently.

Whether the SOZIALHELDEN are looking for the super volunteer, informing the necessary authorities about defect elevators, helping collect donations in the supermarket with their "Pfandtastisch helfen!" system for grocery shoppers to easily donate their bottle deposits to charitable causes, or building an online map for wheelchair-accessible places with Wheelmap.org – their activities generate attention instead of pity. The SOZIALHELDEN are consciously a little bit of everything: “social entrepreneurs”, “activists”, “pirate-like”. There have already been TV reports, radio broadcasts and articles about the SOZIALHELDEN on German TV channels ZDF and RBB, in the BILD newspaper, on ZEIT Online and in NEON magazine, as well as many other (also international) media.
